McMillen Health Receives Funding from United Way St. Joseph County to Serve St. Joseph County Youth
McMillen Health is proud to announce that it has received a generous grant of $9,188 from the United Way of St. Joseph County to enhance its preventive health education efforts for youth in the area. This funding will support the delivery of 25 educational sessions focused on nutrition, fitness, substance use prevention, and pregnancy prevention, reaching over 475 St. Joseph County youth in grades Preschool through 12.
With the support of United Way, McMillen Health will expand its programming across St. Joseph County with the following goals:
• 12 Nutrition and Fitness Sessions: Designed to teach students about healthy eating, physical activity, and overall wellness.
• 5 Substance Use Prevention Programs: Providing students with the tools and knowledge to make informed, healthy choices and avoid substance use.
• 1 Round of Choices Today, Options Tomorrow or Respect & Responsibility Curriculum: Targeted education for 25 students to address issues related to healthy relationships and pregnancy prevention.
