Michigan Oral Health Needs Assessment

McMillen Health, with consultation from Project Accessible Oral Health, conducted a dental health needs assessment of adults with disabilities throughout the state of Michigan. The needs assessment included personal interviews and focus groups with dental professionals, adults with disabilities, and their caregivers, as well as surveys of dental offices.

The results of our research were summarized in a report, along with recommendations on how to improve dental health for Michigan residents with disabilities. As part of the project, we also developed a directory of dental offices and clinics in Michigan that serve adults with disabilities with Medicaid or without insurance. Pieces developed include:
