CLIENT: Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Commission at the Indiana Department of Health

McMillen Health partnered with the Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Commission at the Indiana Department of Health in 2018 to develop a comprehensive tobacco prevention curriculum to be used in Head Start and early childhood programs. Breathe provides education on lung health, tobacco cessation, and the dangers of tobacco use.

Pieces developed include:

  • Interactive flip chart for professionals to use with families

  • Parent handouts and journal

  • Classroom activity book

  • Short, educational videos

  • Training for curriculum users

  • Educational text messages

  • Promotional materials including magnets and tote bags

McMillen Health has recently partnered with Health Ed Pros to add educational resources to the Breathe curriculum, which include:

  • Children’s coloring book

  • Parent survey cards

  • Text messages

  • Social media content

Health Ed Pros provides training and implementation of the Breathe curriculum.
