McMillen Health’s newly launched campaign aims to help children “Reclaim Your Plate.”

The initiative focuses on fundraising for nutrition education programs for 2,500 students ranging from kindergarten to high school seniors.

McMillen Health cites the World Health Organization’s statistic that children ages 2-11 years old view roughly 13 ads daily for unhealthy foods, as motivation for the campaign.

The Fort Wayne-based organization says the data shows an impact in children’s food choices which points to a rise in childhood obesity and diabetes.
