McMillen Health Family Day

McMillen Health will open on Saturday, February 11th to offer a variety of health education programs at $12 per person which includes entry to TWO programs! You also have the option to attend one program at $7 per person.

Available Programs:

10:00am-10:45am: Mood Monsters (Grades K-2)

  • Stress, anxiety, and academic and social pressures can leave kids feeling overwhelmed. Mood Monsters allows students to practice self-regulation strategies. In this life skills program, students learn that all feelings are okay, but not all behaviors are. Once students learn to tame their “mood monsters,” they are ready to manage their behavior.

10:50am-11:35am: BRUSH for kids (Grades PreK-K)

  • Help your students learn how to care for their mouths! Students will discover the many jobs their teeth perform and just how important their teeth really are. Discussion will emphasize proper brushing technique, visiting the dentist, and how to choose nutritious foods to promote healthy teeth. Activities using larger-than-life sets of teeth will allow students to interact with, practice brushing, and choose what foods to feed “Mr. Big Mouth” and “Mr. Yuck Mouth.”

11:40am-12:25pm: Hooked on a Feeling (Grades 3-5)

  • Stress can affect students’ learning and classroom engagement. Anxiety, stress, and depression impact students of all ages. In this life skills program, students learn self-regulation techniques and how various parts of the brain influence the rest of the body. `

12:30pm-1:15pm: Health Adventure (Grades 3)

  • In Health Adventure, students learn about the four keys to good health: healthy foods, exercise, quality sleep, and supporting happiness. This health skills program teaches about the organs and functions of the digestive system using TAM (our Transparent Anatomical Mannequin) or Mannequin Man. Students have the chance to interact with an oversized version of MyPlate to learn about healthy food choices.

1:20pm-2:20pm: Happy Healthy Me (Grades K-1)

  • This health skills program empowers students to pursue happy, healthy lives. Interactive learning experiences include a Jungle Jamboree puppet show, a larger-than-life MyPlate, and TAM (McMillen’s beloved Transparent Anatomical Mannequin) or Mannequin Man.

Special Edition Senses Plus (ALL AGES):
